Requirements

Deputy Sheriff / Detention Officer

United States Citizen
21 Years of age or older
Minimum Education achieving a High School Diploma or GED
Clean Criminal Record
Valid North Carolina Driver's License
Certified copy of Birth Certificate
Social Security Card
Copy of Military Discharge (DD-214), member 4 copy if applicable
Live within a 40 mile radius of the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office
Be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation which may include written test, interviews, reference checks, psychological screening, medical exam, polygraph examination and drug screen.
Be able to pass a North Carolina State Certification Course exam
Deputy Sheriff's Applicants must be able to successfully complete a Job Related Physical Abilities Test
