Special Services

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Special Services Office performs an assortment of services daily. The Special Services Office issues all permits to purchase pistols in Cumberland County and all concealed carry permits are applied for and issued in the Special Services Office. Special Services also conducts criminal background checks for job applicants, housing and education.  Fingerprints are electronically scanned and printed on two cards for job applicants, professional licenses and concealed carry permit applicants.  Open warrant checks can also be obtained for those seeking shelter in one of Cumberland County Homeless Shelters. Open warrant checks for those seeking temporary shelter are free of charge.
