welcome to ccso

Welcome to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office information portal. It is important to me, as sheriff of this county, that we provide our citizens with current information.

In light of the continuing, growing concerns with regard to the corona virus (COVID -19) pandemic and the recent increase of the number of cases in Cumberland County as well as the entry of the judicial administrative order requiring masks to be worn in the courthouse and my prior directive for Sheriff's Office personnel to use facial coverings, there are compelling reasons to require all persons who wish to enter or to do business in the Sheriff's Office facilities to use such individual personal protective equipment (masks) at the time entry and while in the Sheriff's Office facility.

Beginning Monday, May 4, 2020 the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office will allow applicants, who have an appointment to do so, to enter the Law Enforcement Center and to do business in the Gun Permits / Special Services Office on a limited basis to the public for carry conceal permits and fingerprinting for background checks. Accordingly, such, anyone entering the Cumberland County Law Enforcement Center will wear personal protective equipment (P.P.E.) to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

This order shall be effective on Monday, May 4, 2020. Note that until this directive is modified or rescinded, it will be mandatory for all persons (including members of the general public) entering the Cumberland County Law Enforcement Center to wear personal protective equipment. Entry into or remaining in the building will not be allowed unless the personal protective equipment is in place and properly worn.

All visitors should have scheduled appointment times to avoid congregating in the lobby. Personal protective equipment will not be supplied to a person entering the building, and each person must furnish his or her own PPE.

On this website you will be able to read and get needed information about the services that we provide and hopefully answer many of the day-to-day questions that you may have about this Office. In the event you do not find the information you seek please feel free to call us at (910) 323-1500.

Sheriff Ennis W. Wright
