The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Operations Divisions is responsible for providing the highest quality of law enforcement to the citizens of Cumberland County. The Operations Division is committed to enforce the laws of the State of North Carolina, and to the Constitution of the United States, and to be community oriented and proactive in our law enforcement activities.
The Operations Division is comprised of uniformed patrol officers who are responsible for the continuous 24 hours a day coverage of the unincorporated areas of Cumberland County and the incorporated areas of Stedman, Godwin, Wade, Falcon, Eastover, and Linden.
The Operations Division is also responsible for providing security for all of the Cumberland County School System’s 90 schools.
The Operation Division provides funeral escorts along with numerous community policing activities throughout the county.

The Operations Division is directed by the Operations Division Commander who holds the rank of Major and answers to the Chief Deputy. The Operations Division Commander is assisted by the Deputy Patrol Commander and the Deputy Operations Division Commander who both hold the rank of Captain and who are assigned individual sections within the Operations Division.
Most sections are supervised by a Lieutenant or Sergeant, depending upon the size of the unit.
