The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registration Unit is a specialized section within the Sheriff’s Office whose responsibilities include the maintenance, integrity and public dissemination of the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. The Sheriff’s Office, the Unit and the State of North Carolina recognize that the sex offender registry is an important tool in keeping families and communities safe. It is the responsibility of the Unit to conduct investigations and quickly apprehend for violations under North Carolina General Statute 14-208.11, Failure To Register.
The Sex Offender Registration Unit consists of one (1) Sergeant Specialist, three (3) Detectives and three (3) Administrative Assistants.
