The Traffic Control Officer’s primary responsibilities are to provide protection for children and parents crossing roadways en-route to and from school, and to assist bus and other school related traffic to enter and exit the school grounds in a safe and timely manner. Traffic Control Officers are assigned to designated crossings at schools within the Cumberland County School System, based upon traffic volume, physical terrain, the number and ages of children utilizing the crossing and the width of the intersection.
