The Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) investigates incidents throughout Cumberland County. The CIU accumulates information on reported gang activity, criminal organizations and disseminates the information to other divisions within the Sheriff’s Office. The CIU works closely with other law enforcement agencies, sharing information and identifying gang members and associates in order to reduce gang related crimes.
